Massage. An alternative to Painkillers.

 

Painkillers can provide immediate relief of pain.

However, is it really a cure?

Basically, the way painkillers work is by NOT allowing your brain to feel pain. Pain is actually an important part of your body’s ‘alarm system’.

When you're on painkillers, your  ‘alarm system’ is actually ‘switched off.’ Without this alarm system working, you may continue to use your body well beyond your physical limitation. Therefore after the effect of drug wears off, the pain usually comes back.

In many cases, muscle tension is the root cause of pain and discomfort. Stress, previous injury, overwork, and inactive lifestyle can cause abnormal tension to muscles, decrease blood circulation, and impinge nerves. It will eventually develop chronic pain and discomfort in the body.

About "Rebound".

After a massage session, your muscle tension should be released. You may feel light, relaxed, refreshed, and clear. Those feelings are signs of improvement of blood circulation in your body. 

However, some people may feel sore and dull after the massage or next day. We call it “REBOUND”. It is not a bad sign, but it is actually good.  Your body has reacted to heal itself by sending blood to local area where you got rubbed on, but as a result, blood is accumulated in that area like inflammation. It will go away in few days and then, you will feel great afterwards. 

It often happens to a person who is sensitive to stimulation. It is most likely happening to a female customer in the neck area and front area of thighs.  We will take extra care of sensitive female customers regarding this pressure & "rebound".  

We wish none of our customers to get the rebound. We explain about it to the first time customer. If we feel you are sensitive to pain, we work with light pressure for the first session. We always adjust the presssure to your comfort level at any time.

Listen to your body.

Did you know? - Your body is more fatigue than you think ?

  You might not notice that, but your muscles are building up tension all over your body. However, your body sends you some kinds of signals. 

  Tightness and pain in your muscles are common signals you could easily recognize. Dullness, thick head, swelling legs and sleepless also could be the signals.

These symptoms are caused by poor blood circulation due to muscle fatigue. What the body tries to tell you is “Hey! I am tired, give me a break!”

Despite these signals we tend to ignore those signals and keep overusing until your limit. By the time you feel your limit, your muscles become rock hard. It’s hard to loose them up by yourself. You need some extra help to release that tension.

Therefore, it’s important to listen to your body whenever you feel those signals. We recommend regular massage session to maintain good condition of your muscular system. Regular exercise also helps you to maintain good blood circulation in the body.
